Washington D.C. ordered him to leave his post on Corregidor Island and set-up a
new Command Center in Australia.

the Philippine Sea and the harrowing flight by B-17 Bombers to Australia,
General MacArthur’s trip was far from over.

As the train pulled into the station in Terowie, Australia,
he and his party disembarked just long enough o broadcast one of the most
famous speeches of the War.

In the speech, MacArthur vowed to the Filipino people, at
all costs, “I Shall Return.”
